Connected Heart Therapy was founded by Wendy Byrd and Robin Landers, two licensed therapists in Austin, Texas. After years in private practice, they know how complicated and overwhelming it can be to find the right therapist. They combined their practices and set out to find only the most caring, dedicated and accessible therapists to build the Connected Heart Therapy care team. Connected Heart Therapy combines the best of traditional and virtual therapy to make getting help easy and convenient so you can focus on what's really important: healing.
ABOUT THE FOUNDERS
Robin is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. She runs a thriving private practice in Austin, TX. She has over 20 years’ experience working with individuals and couples, adolescents and adults. Robin began her career in mental health directly after undergraduate school, where she received her BA in psychology and went on to receive her Masters in Social Work. She is a certified EMDR therapist registered with EMDRIA, an EMDR consultant who facilitates EMDR basic trainings, and is trained in Systems Centered Therapy.

Wendy Byrd is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and Professional Counselor. She maintains a successful private practice in Austin, Texas. As an EMDRIA certified therapist and approved consultant, Wendy utilizes EMDR in her practice on a daily basis.
She has presented at local and national conferences on integrating EMDR into couples therapy. As a facilitator for EMDR training she helps teach other therapist EMDR. Over the years Wendy has volunteered her time and experience serving on both local and national associations to support other support mental health professionals and the field.
Licensed Professional Counselor
Crystal is a Licensed Professional Counselor who earned her Master’s Degree from St. Edward’s University. She loves to work with children, adolescent girls and young adult women. She utilizes a collaborative approach while offering modalities of both EMDR and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Crystal has a passion for connecting with teens and young adults to help increase self awareness, develop a better understanding of feelings and thoughts, and improve relationships.

Professional Counselor Associate supervised by Wen-Mei Chou, Ph.D., LMFT-S, LPC-S
Mika became a professional counselor to help people learn their worth. If you are feeling exhausted or hopeless living with your depression and anxiety, then she is eager to walk alongside you to help you find relief. Mika loves working with teenagers and adult women.
Mika will help you recognize how your own thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors influence how effective you are in accomplishing your goals and influence the control you feel you have over your mind, body, and life. She will help you to establish or reestablish a connection with yourself and with others and to find meaning in life.
Mika’s approach to counseling includes a number of research-informed modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), and Integrative Neuroscience Psychology.
Mika received a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Texas at Austin and a Master of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor. She has clinical experience working with depression, anxiety, trauma, self-esteem, life transitions, relationship issues and communication issues.
Licensed Professional Counselor- Associate
Krystal is a Licensed Professional Counselor – Associate and currently private practices in Dallas, TX. She earned a Masters Degree from Texas A&M University, Commerce. Krystal has been in public education for over 25 years as an educator, counselor, and behavioral specialist. Krystal has worked in elementary, middle, and high school, as well as the DAEP (Discipline Alternative Education Placement). She has experience working with diverse populations and enjoys counseling adolescents and young adults.
Krystal’s passion is working with adolescents and adults, helping them discover their full potential. Her approach to counseling is a collaborative process, built upon respectful listening and courageous conversations, while offering modalities of EMDR and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. Ensuring clients feel understood is central to Krystal’s therapeutic approach, while utilizing methods to create opportunities for change.
